CLINICAL TRAINING REVIEWS

Clinical Training Reviews are conducted to determine satisfactory progression of Registrars during each Training Period and are conducted with the Registrar and their CTS, CTI (if they are working with a CTI) and ZTC. Clinical Training Reviews assess Registrar progress throughout the Training Period against their ATP. The outcome of these reviews, particularly that with the ZTC, determine if the Training Period can be deemed satisfactory as part of Training Time.

KEY TIMELINES

  • CTS Reviews and CTI Reviews must occur before 14 July for Training Period 1 and before 14 January for Training Period 2. CTSs and CTIs must also complete and sign the review form.
  • The College audit Registrar online portfolios the week following this and send a summary to the Registrar's ZTC. Portfolios must be up to date to reflect the Registrar's progress.
  • ZTC Reviews must occur by 30 July for Training Period 1 and by 30 January for Training Period 2. ZTCs must also complete and sign the form.

OTHER POINTS ABOUT CLINICAL TRAINING REVIEWS

  • It is the Registrar's responsibility to organise reviews at a time and place that is suitable for both parties within the stipulated review period.
  • The CTS Progress Review must be conducted first with all documentation uploaded to the Registrar's online portfolio by the stipulated dates.

Registrars should consult the Training Manual for detailed information on each Clinical Training Review type.
