TIPS for the session:

For Prospective Trainees:

  • Get to know the College before coming, take a look at our website, facebook, twitter and instagram
  • Read about the Training Program and the Selection Process to have some questions prepared
  • Take a look at our list of ACSEP Accredited Training Practices to see who may be at the session
  • Research some Practices that you like the look of - be sure to look outside of your normal living area, as often new Registrars placed onto the Training Program have to relocate interstate or move from Aus<>NZ
  • During the session perhaps organise a time for a coffee or sit-in with the Supervisor
  • After the session, contact the Supervisor/Practice to keep the connection open

For ACSEP Registrars:

  • Where do you want to be in 1-2 years time?  Start thinking about your Training Pathway and use this session to reach out to potential Supervisors/Practices.
  • Try and reach out to the Supervisor prior to the session so they have extra awareness of you
  • Bring a business card or potentially a CV to hand out
  • Perhaps organise a time for a coffee or sit-in with the Supervisor
  • After the session, contact the Supervisor/Practice to keep the connection open

For ACSEP Supervisors/Practices:

  • Use this time to meet and get to know prospective trainees and current ACSEP Registrars - put names to faces
  • Promote your Practice!  What makes your Practice unique?  What's it like working at your clinic location?  What type of training experience do you provide?  Who also works at your Practice?  Which sport teams/events opportunities do you provide?    How do you support your Registrars in completing other Training Program tasks?
  • Bring business cards or clinic promotional material with you to hand out
  • Bring and pen and paper to jot down names/contact details
